Columbus Innovate is a process improvement and automation consultancy based in Wilmington, North Carolina. We untangle how work gets done, automate the repetitive parts and put AI to work where it genuinely helps, so owners and their teams can spend their hours on the work only they can do.
Mission
Give owners and teams their time back by making the work simpler, then letting systems and AI handle what's repetitive. That's the job.
Most businesses don't need more software. They need fewer hours spent feeding the software they already have: copying a lead from an email into the CRM, chasing a signed form, rebuilding the same report every Monday.
That work is real, and someone has to do it. It just doesn't have to be a person every time, and often it doesn't have to happen at all once the process is cleaned up. Our job is to simplify first, automate the steps that follow predictable rules, and keep a person in charge of everything that needs judgment.

Your business runs on a set of processes and the systems they touch: inboxes, CRMs, spreadsheets, calendars, accounting tools and the web portals your vendors and customers use. When the process is unclear, no tool fixes it. So we start with process improvement.
Once the work is simple and clear, systems can carry it. Routine steps get automated. Steps that need reading, writing or judgment go to AI agents, which use the internet the way software uses infrastructure, with anything unusual handed to a person.

Tom C. was born and raised in southeastern North Carolina, where good business has always meant knowing your customers by name, picking up the phone and remembering how people like things done.
Somewhere along the way, that kind of care got buried under paperwork: the data entry, the follow-ups, the invoices, the scheduling. Tom founded Columbus Innovate to dig it back out. The idea is simple. Let technology handle the processing in the back, so owners and their teams can get back to the people in front of them.
AI isn't here to change how you do business. It takes over the tasks that eat up most of your day, so you get your time back and can spend it where it counts: taking care of your customers the small-town way.
